- Abstract
- This paper deals with the coupling of the two fields of research that must be considered in predicting pyrolysis rates of solids in air. The first field has to do with the evolution of gases from organic solids when they are heated at a surface. The second field has to do with the fluid mechanics of the air outside the heated solid as it is distributed by and perhaps undergoes reaction with the gases evolved from the solid.
