- Abstract
- An investigation has been made regarding the suitability of high expansion foam fire protection systems for use in Naval shore facilities and it is concluded that presently available high expansion foam equipment becomes cost-effective only in special situtions. Certain types of storge facilities and remote buildings requiring self-contained systems are typical locations where high expansion foam should be considered for fire protection. New concepts in generator design and developments of improved foam concentrates should be examined as this work is anticipated to produce less expensive nd more effective systems in the near future.
