- Abstract
- As cities have developed within the last century and the demand for city-provided services has grown, so has the need arisen for better, more reliable fire protection as part of these services. The development of the municipal fire service has not been very different from that of other city service organizations, all of which are frequently criticized for inefficiency and other ills.
