- ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH Buildings of special construction or for special use have various fire protection problems, that cannot be solved by convential fire protection specifications and practical experience, but with engineering methods on scientific basis. The report outlines by examples the available engineering models to describe the phases of fire: origin of fire, fire spread and fully developed fires - and the calculation of temperature development, smoke spread and the fire behavior of (supporting) construction.
