Abstract
The objectives of this study are two-fold: first, to correlate the results reported by grantees and contractors engaged in the GIRCFF study so as to understand better the hazards involved in fabric fires; and second, to help formulate future programs so as to develop further basic information which can be used in reducing such hazards. During the early part of this program technical reports of the grantees and contractors have been assembled and studied with a view towards integration of analytical and experimental results. In addition, numerous pertient rferences have been collected for study in the fields of combustion and textile flammability. This progress report provides a first cut summary of the GIRCFF sponsored research to date. The purpose of its presentation at this early stage is to indicate a general format for the final report and, more important, to provide a working base for early recommendations to the GIRCFF regarding the continuing program in 1973.
