- Abstract
- FireAdvisor, an exploratory development project for fire support management, focuses on research in dynamic fire planning and on providing traceable recommendations for brigade tactical fire control. It is intended to provide the Army with follow-on ideas for developmental tactical data systems, leading to improvement of target selection, resource management, and fire delivery timeliness. An experimental computer program operational on a list-processing machine serves as a demonstrator. This document is primarily a manual of instructions for using the prototype as demonstrated in the 1989 Smart Weapons Systems LABCOM Cooperative Program Command Post Exercise. Topics discussed include: general operations, start-up and shutdown procedures, log files, interactions with the BRL Information Distribution System, top level commands, and an example run. The report also contains technical notes for the programmer/analyst interested in further development based on concepts used in the computer program.
