- Abstract
- A 100 mesh stainless steel screen coated with a thin (3 to 5 microns) deposit of crystalline salt, was held horizontally inside a long 48 mm ID pyrex tube to intercept the propagating flame front of a heptane-air mixture. Under certain conditions this interaction resulted in quenching of the flame by the screen.
