- Abstract
- This investigation forms the initial stages of research into the chemical aspects of combustion in bushfires, which has as its final aims (1) an elucidation of the combustion process at a molecular level and (2) the mechanisms by which this combustion process can be chemically inhibited. In this work the pyrolysis of the materials constituting a typical eucalpyt forest litter bed has been studied under conditions simulating those that exist during a bushfire.
