Abstract
It is the purpose of this paper to record data on the equilibrium moisture content (hereafter abbreviated to EMC) of some materials, representative of the fuels that burn in forest and bush fires in Australia, and to compare such data with those known for wood. The data are required by research workers and practical firefighters for estimating and predicting the moisture contents of single fuels, (and hence of mixtures of these fuels), which have a market influence on the ignition, spread and violence of rural fires.
