- Abstract
- This report describes a series of eight experiments designed to evaluate the fire resistance of typical rail transit floor systems. The floor test specimens were subjected to the fire conditions described by ASTM E 119 "Fire Tests of Building Construction Materials" in accordance with Urban Mass Transportation Administration (UMTA) "Recommended Practices for Rail Transit Materials Selection." These tests were sponsored by the U.S. Department of transportation under Contract No. DTRS57-82-C-0007 with the San Francisco BAY Area Rapid Transit District and conducted by the University of California, Berkeley at its Fire Research Group facilities in Richmond, California.
