- Abstract
- In summary, we believe that there are five properties of materials that are pertinent to evaluation of the fire hazard of any material assembly: ease of ignition, rate of heat release, flame spread, smoke generation properties and toxic gas properties. Since the fire safety of polymeric materials cannot be considered separately from materials in general, in this discussion I have briefly attempted to tell you the current status of the development of testing methods to evaluate material fire properties.
