- Abstract
- The validity of current experimental methods of evaluating fire retardant clothing is discussed. Two synthetic materials, Nomex and Polybenzimidazole (PBI) are compared in terms of their physiological protective capabilities. The data indicates PBI is supperior to Nomex in affording slightly longer protection. Several recommendations are made.
