- Abstract
- This report concludes the two sprinkler test series performed by the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT) and the Swedish National Testing and Research Institute (SP). The tests were conducted in accordance with the fire test procedures developed by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO). The aim of the tests was to establish acceptance criteria for the performance of equivalent sprinkler systems in accordance with SOLAS II-2/12 in accommodation and public space areas of passenger ships. Apart from the acceptance criteria, this report contains a discussion of the tests and the results as well as an explanation about the justification for the criteria.
