- ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH In a fire publication we reported on tests refering the range and ignition potential of glowing particles. Now some aspects of the complicated interaction between glowing particles and combustible materials are presented. Statisticsl, experimental and theoretical analysis on ignition effectiveness are described. The tests showed the geometrical arrangement of combustible material and the point of application of glowing particles, in short the ignition geometry, to be of main significance for generating a fire. Model reflection indicate on the comparability of the ignition effectiveness of small particles with very high temperatures and large particles with lower temperatures. From the results of the results suggestions can be obtained to modify fire safety regulations and training instructions for welding techniques.
