- Abstract
- Deaths from fires and explosions are the third leading cause of accidental death in the United States and one of the leading cripplers of children. The rates are particularly high in the southern and southwestern states. Arkansas is one of these states and the Arkansas State Board of Health had been alerted to this problem for many years.
