Abstract
Progress made in the third year of the Grant No. 60NANB4D0037 is reported here. The report has three sections. Part A describes experimental results conducted on flat vertical samples of polymethylmethacrylate burning in atmospheres stratified in temperature and oxygen mass fraction. Part B presents results of salt-water analog experiments on interaction of a buoyant jet with a two-layered density stratified medium. In Part C, a discussion on extension of the present laminar flow model to a turbulent wall fire model is presented.
