Abstract
Maximum vessel wall temperature rises during hydrocarbon fires of insulated propan pressure vessels containing gaseous propane at 5 bar and 80 bar when having crack faults and circular faults in insulation is presented. Crack widths vary from 4 to 500 mm and circular faults from 4 to 500 mm in diameter. Maximum vessel wall temperature rises of the same uninsulated vessels protected by spray water when part of vessels is not covered by spray water is also presented. The widths of the area not covered by spray water vary from 20 to 1000 mm.
