- Abstract
- Laminated glass provides strength and beauty, durability and clarity to meet design needs. Long-lasting and versatile, it is the only glazing material that combines the durability and strength of glass with the toughness of plastic. Laminated glass is made by bonding two or more layers of glass, using heat and pressure, with one or more "Interlayers" or sheets of Du Pont BUTACITE polyvinyl butyral resin (PVB). The result is a tough, adaptable glazing material that offers outstanding features to meet a wide variety of design challenges. Depending on desgin needs, laminated glass can be made with sheets of annealed, tempered, chemically- or heat-strengthened glass. It is easy to work with and replace, and provides important structural performance features and benefits.
