- Abstract
- The Forest Service Equipment Development and Test (ED&T) program is conducted to provide forest managers and engineers with useful and current information on equipment, vehicles, and materials. Technology developed through research in engineering, forestry, and other applicable fields is utilized in this program. This report contains capsule versions of work done in FY '71 and plans for FY '72 on the various ED&T projects. The major portion of ED&T work is performed at two Equipment Development Centers - San Dimas, California and Missoula, Montana. Communications equipment projects are assigned to the Electronics Center at Beltsville, Maryland. projects are also assigned to Regions and Experiment Stations, usually at their request.
