- Abstract
- A unified presentation of several theoretical treatments on the flame front stabilization zone is given. The importance of streamwise heat conduction in this region suggests the adoption of thermal-diffusional distance as the characteristic length. A domain of influence is defined where the local Reynolds and Pecient numbers are small. The solutions of the governing system of Navier-Stokes' equations reveal a complex multi-dimensional flame tip structure. Blowoff and extinction phenomena are studied and differentiated. Future work are suggested.
