Abstract
The scope of this report covers equipment arrangements for compressed air foam systems (CAFS) for use in fighting wildland fires. Guidelines which should be used when acquiring CAFS units are: (1) With the CAFS in place, there should be no deterioration of the water handling capability or reliability of the engine; (2) With the CAFS, the engine should be able to make a moving attack; (3) Operation of the engine equipped with CAFS should be easy and simple.
