- Abstract
- The scope of this report covers equipment arrangements for compressed air foam systems (CAFS) for use in fighting wildland fires. Guidelines which should be used when acquiring CAFS units are: (1) With the CAFS in place, there should be no deterioration of the water handling capability or reliability of the engine; (2) With the CAFS, the engine should be able to make a moving attack; (3) Operation of the engine equipped with CAFS should be easy and simple.
