- Abstract
- Chemicals studied by the National Toxicology Program are selected mainly on the basis of human exposure, production levels, chemical structure, and available toxicologic data. Selection of a chemical for a study does not imply that the chemical is hazardous or a potential carcinogen in laboratory animals; likewise, a chemical not selected for toxicologic study by the Program should not be taken to mean that the chemical is not potentially hazardous or potentially carcinogenic in laboratory rodents. Compounds are listed by a common or generic name; if this is not available, the chemical name is listed.
