Abstract
Recently, the number of highrise apartments which are about ten stories high and so called mansion in Japanese are increasing in the central districts of large cities in Japan. This trend may be explained that, on the one hand, the owners of small and expensive urban land will try to build tall buildings to pay off their cost and, on the other hand, those people who will choose downtown apartments near to their offices rather than suburban single-family houses requiring long commuting time are increasing.
