Abstract
[ABSTRACT IN ENGLISH] Galvanized steel pipes and copper pipes have mainly been used for hot water service until now. However, plastic pipes, which have a higher corrosion resistance, easier applicability and higher abrasion resistance have begun to be used instead. We investigated the properties, the forming techniques and the application techniques of high molecular weight polybutene. As a result, we have developed a new plastic pipe, a polybutene pipe, that is more suitable for hot water service than any former plastic pipe. In this report, data obtained by investigations on polybutene pipe properties, forming techniques and application technique, are presented.
