- Abstract
- A program was initiated to develop coveralls for use by munition handlers. This report covers the laboratory evaluation of cotton sateen fabric treated with the flame resistant compound, "Permaproof 305", to determine its acceptability for fabrication into clothing meeting the special end use requirements of the Bureau of Ordnance. Emphasis was placed on the determination of the flame resistance properties and durability to laundering of the "Permaproof" treatment. The effect of the treatment on the physical properties of the base fabric was also evaluated.
