- Abstract
- Dwelling and office buildings are often multi-storey buildings. The share of multi-storey buildings in steel for both dwelling and office buildings have, during the last years increased. There are a lot of advantages using a column-beam structure in steel. The large span makes the areas flexible for both dwelling and offices. The rational method gives a shorter time for building, when a lot of manufacturing can be done in a workshop. This publication is one part of the handbook "Fire Engineering of Steel Structures", and deals with designing dwelling and office buildings from standards and regulations to the completed solution.
