- Abstract
- This paper was originally written for presentation at a symposium on "The Efficient Use of Steel in Structures" held in Melbourne in July, 1968. I was asked to prepare it only a few weeks prior to my departure overseas on my Scholarship Research trip, and I could at that time have quickly prepared a paper on orthodox lines. I decided against this because I knew that while overseas I would meet many people who have made a special study of Fire Protection and would discuss with them the results of research in this subject in many countries, so that on my return I would have the latest information, much of it not yet published.
