- Abstract
- Experiments have been performed in which geometrically-scaled, unenclosed cross-piles of wood have been burned under controlled conditions. For a range of stick sizes from 1/16 to 3.6 in. in cross section, the typical weight-time curve illustrated the three characteristic stages of ignition, active combustion, and glowing embers.
