- Abstract
- This manual is developed to identify and recommend existing measurement techniques for validation of energy savings from facility retrofits in various Air Force energy conservation programs. Test procedures and measure methods discussed in this manual include fuel record analysis, electric co-heating, submetering, measurement of mechanical systems efficiency, air infiltration measurements, whole building and component fan pressurization tests, thermographic inspections, and thermal resistance measurements. Included in each method are the selection criteria, accuracies, procedures, and examples. According to project types and percentage of programs in each category, the discussions are given as to which particular techniques are best suited to evaluate each type of retrofit installation.
