- This sound like a pretty boring topic. The works, specifications and standards, conjure up an image of endless pages of technical jargon, eye-straining drawings, and inexplicable numbers. It sounds like something best left to the experts. This is unfortunate, because the process of writing standards and specifications lies at the very heart of improving what's right and correcting what's wrong with fire department equipment today.
