- Abstract
- One approach to characterize flashover in transient compartment fire and to clarify the physical or chemical processes which promote flashover is shown. The approach correlates the onset of flashover with the appearance of thermal instability, which is represented mathematically by the irregularity of the Jacobian of the energy conservation equations describing the growth of fire.
