Abstract
The three ingredients necessary for a fire are air, fuel and heat. Once the fire starts, the heat generated raises the temperature of the fuel and surrounding air. The fuel is pyrolyzed; the fuel vapors react with the oxygen in the air. The chemical reaction products are heat, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide and others which were not included in this study. The heat generated pyrolyzes more fuel; thus, the fire triangle "feeds on itself".
