- Fire protection practices and technology are changing as fast as the globe seems to be shrinking. Throughout the world, each nation has its own fire problems, yet all nations share the common goal of reducing fire's toll. Since the mid-1960s, organizations devoted to improving the level of fire safety in their respective nations have been meeting at sites on various continents. The purpose of these far-flung conferences has been to share fire safety information, technology, and experience--as well as to stimulate thinking that can help the individual organizations become more effective. These proceedings represent contributions by experts from a dozen nations in North and South American, Europe, Africa and Asia.
