- Abstract
- The object of this report is to discuss imaging diode-pumped laser radar development, the test and evaluation of the ladar system components, and the flight test data. Also included is a discussion on the optical correlator subcontract that developed a miniature, ruggedized optical correlator. State-of-the-art solid-state ladar components including lasers, detectors, scanners, filters, optics, and supporting electronics were evaluated. These components have the potential for enhancing the performance of air-to-surface weapons. The end product is a laboratory testbed and a modular field test ladar unit that is compact and rugged, yet light enough for captive flight testing in remotely piloted vehicles (RPVs).
