Abstract
An atempt is made to analyze qualitatively the different combustion diagrams of jets in the development of discussions in the literature on the effect of turbulent pulsations in temperature on the combustion rate observed. Using ordinary terminology the author distinguishes three regions: the kinetic region for small pulsations corresponding to the volumetric model of turbulent combusiton; the intermediate region in which the mixing characteristics and the total reaction rate are considerable; and the diffusion region for which turbulent pulsations play a considerable role.
