- The European Recommendations on the calculation of the fire resistance of units exposed to standard fire were drawn up in June 1982 by Committee 3--Fire Safety of Steel Structures--of the European Convention on Metal Construction. They are the outcome of many years of study and research undertaken in various European Laboratories. An explantory manual on the use of these Recommendations has also been prepared by a select working party of this Committee.
