- Abstract
- The development and use of Fluorel in the Apollo Program is discussed. Each successive step of the fluorocarbon-elastomer development program for Apollo has increased the potential uses of the material. The basic formulation has been shown to be a workable material for economical solvation, foaming, extrusion, compression molding and casting. Because this compound, in many forms and with many properties, can be used to flameproof virtually any substrate, the possibilities for application in many fields are very considerable.
