- Abstract
- Nonmetallic materials chosen for use in space flight were exposed to extreme variations in environment. The space and lunar environment emphasizes the need for performance under the extremes of vacuum, temperature, and radiation. Cabin materials must exhibit no tendency to burn in the cabin environment and they must not offgas toxic products while in normal use. The new materials developed and tested are discussed.
