Abstract
The purpose of this research is to develop a data base for the transient thermal response of unconfined ceilings above fires. Earlier measurements have been made for steel ceilings by Veldman, Kubota and Zukoski. Such data can be used to check the results of predictive modeling. The prediction of the transient response of ceilings is an important part of modeling compartment fire phenomena.
