- Abstract
- During this test, 14 kinetic energy (KE) and shaped charge (SC) threats were fired into a combat vehicle simulator to determine the discrimination and response levels of Mark II Optical Fire Sensor assemblies (OFSA) submitted by Pacific Scientific. Based upon the objectives and criteria of this test, the Mark II OFSA discriminated more frequently than the qualified Mark I OFSA; however, the Mark I responded faster. Both systems would extinguish a fire; however, the number of sensors responding becomes significant.
