- Abstract
- This logistics service test (LGST) will asses the operational effectiveness and suitability of the Westover Air Reserve Base (ARB) MA-developed inspection/repair process of the C-5 engine-to-pylon mount sealant to reduce fire bottle out light problems. The United States Air Force Mobility Center will conduct this 1-year test at Travis Air Force Base, California. This LGST will address the following critical operational issues: a) What is the temperature inside the engine pylon aft internal box during ground and flight operations? and b) Will the Westover ARB-developed inspection/repair process improve Air Mobility Command-wide reliability in reference to fire bottle out light problems?
