Abstract
The research work has been devoted to combustion problems for which it can be assumed that the activation temperature is much larger than any other temperature occurring during the process. Frank-Kamenetskii states in his book "Diffusion and Heat Transfer in Chemical Kinetics", that this condition must be satisfied in order to be able to speak of combustion. Simgular perturbation methods based on the smallness of the ratio of a typical temperature to the activation temperature has been used to find analytical expressions for ignition times, reaction zone structures, etc. The specific problems that have been treated by the above mentioned method are covered in this Annual Report.
