- Abstract
- This report describes the results of a fire tests conducted on a nonbearing wall assembly constructed of two layers of 5/8-in. thick listed gypsum wallboard and faced on one side with steel liners and the other side with steel facing units. The liner cavities were filled with glass fiber batts. The wall assembly was erected in the test frame opening as shown on Ill. 1. The object of this investigation was to establish a fire resistance classification for the wall assembly, erected and constructed of materials conforming in quality and physical properties to those described herein, by means of the fire endurance and hose stream tests conducted in accordance with the Standard, Fire Tests of Building construction and Materials, UL 263 (ASTM E 119, NFPA No. 251).
