- Abstract
- This report covers the development of scaling relations and determination of a useful minimum size model to investigate fire behavior in rooms during the ignition-to-glashover period. The recommended minimum model size is to a one-eighth scale. Although not verified, it is believed that the absolute size of the model, not its scale, contributes the main limit to scaling. The minimum model sizes are not necessarily applicable to the study of totally involved spaces (i.e., after flashover), where a more fully developed turbulence exists in the prototype.
