- The Fire Protection Research Foundation (FPRF) and the Halon Options Technical Working Conferences (HOTWC) joined forces in 2007 to presentFire Suppression and Detection Research and Applications - A Technical Working Conference. Now in its third year, SUPDET 2009 combines these effective forums into one conference. The symposium program includes 34 papers bringing research to practice. Detection topics include issues in detection system performance, predicting detector response, mass notification, and notification and human behavior. Suppression topics include the latest updates on halon alternatives and their applications, sprinklers, water mist and water additives, and foams.
