- Abstract
- The Indian Head Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, evaluated age-related performance deterioration of the Fire Extinguisher Cartridge, P/N 897899. All units fired within specification limits. We recommend that the Army and Navy total life limits be increased from 144 to 156 months. An increase in the current installed life of 60 months cannot be justified because of the lack of samples available at the current installed life. We also recommend that, during installation, care be taken when tightening the anchor nut of the center post.
