Abstract
This report documents the efforts undertaken for the analytical study for an improved material for the SCPE liners. The Phase 1 section involved contacting material suppliers and converters, collating data received from these vendors, and performing a solubility and permeability evaluation using ILC Dover's Chemical Compatability Computer Program. The methodology of the informational gathering techniques employed, the progress and achievements completed, and the material cross-section recommendations for program continuation are included herein. A minimum of sixteen typical material construction cross-sections are recommended for testing as possible and item candidates. These materials are described in section 5.0 of this report. Included in these cross-sections are laminates of barrier and substrate films as well as coextrusions.
