- Abstract
- The Naval Ship Systems Command desires to evaluate Halon 1301 as a fire extinguishing agent for systems for protection machinery compartment spaces on board Navy vessels. The simulated ship engine room at the Naval Damage Control Training Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has been selected for installation of a prototype Halon 1301 system. A fire in Navy Distillate complicated by an oil spray impinging on a continuing ignition source was selected to typify a machinery compartment fire.
