- Abstract
- Fire safety within atrium design is involves such complexities as the aerodynamic performance of building geometry. It appears that these and other issues will only be resolve in time through on-goining research and testing. Differential pressurisation between fire effected and non fire affected areas, as employed in South Australia, which also achieves a "changeover" system in an open atrium, appears to satisfy the intent of fire safety design within atrium buildings.
