Abstract
Traditional methods of assessing fire risk are based on probabilistic treatment of fire incident data. Recent advances in the ability to make deterministic predictions of the consequences of specific fire scenarios, presents an opportunity to reduce this dependency on incident data and greatly improve the ability to assess the risk associated with new products for which such data do not exist. This paper presents a risk assessment method developed for such a purpose, and provides the essential documentation for the methodology to be understood and applied by others. There are also four associated reports detailing trial applications of the methodology to specific products in specified occupancies. [Later a computer fire model name was assigned: FRAMEworks.]
